The 24km mountain bike event has an exciting new course for 2016 with lots of single track and a big climb that is rewarded with views out over Porirua and the Tasman Sea.

Race Pack pickup (1st April) – details here
Race Day timetable (2nd April) – details here (8:30am: Race Briefing for Mountain Bike only and Duathlon events at HQ; 9am: Start)

The course is something special. It’s starts with a loop in Takapuwahia Reserve (Ngati Toa land) with some climbing, single track and sweet sweeping downhill and a couple of hairy moments for good measure. Then you pass back through HQ again before following cycle paths to the new single track networks on Colonial Knob/Rangituhi. There’s a tough climb up onto the main ridge, but it leads to awesome views before more sweet single track descending. This ride is not to be missed!

Important Notes
> The course is challenging but achievable, with expected finish times between 1.5-3hrs.
> Entrants must be 16 years or older. Younger entrants may be allowed entry on a case by case basis; parents/guardians should contact the race director.

* Parts of both the Mtn Bike course share public roads and cycle paths (see course descriptions for more details on which parts). Please watch for traffic, obey road rules and give way to other users at all times.
